Meet Megan Grubb, our dedicated Bereavement Coordinator and Social Worker Assistant at Bella Terra Home Health & Hospice, where she has been serving families in February of 2024. She provides emotional support and a safe space for families and loved ones dealing with grief. Her responsibilities include sending letters throughout the year to remind them they are supported, organizing activities to help families handle their emotions, and meeting with them upon request. In her role as a Social Worker Assistant, Megan supports the social work and admissions teams, handles various administrative tasks, and manages volunteer services, including recruitment, onboarding, training, and connecting volunteers with patients.
Megan finds bereavement support deeply rewarding and enjoys working with the interdisciplinary team at Bella Terra. She is dedicated to providing comfort to families, especially those who lack a support system.
“Being part of the Bella Terra team feels like being part of a family. I’ve learned so much from the staff, nurses, doctors, and the entire interdisciplinary team, and I always feel valued. It’s incredibly rewarding to support families, getting to know them and helping bring back some of their smiles. Knowing I can be there for someone, especially when they don’t have a support system, means the world to me.”
Outside of work, Megan coaches a collegiate esports team for the game Valorant at Simpson College in Iowa and competes in events like Game Changers. She graduated from Simpson College with a degree in psychology and neuroscience.
Originally from the Midwest, Megan now resides in the Coachella Valley, where she enjoys diverse activities and amenities, including the Firebirds hockey team and the Paribas Open. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with her dog Barkley, cat Snickers, and her boyfriend. Megan previously worked for the Disney College Program.
